Time

Technology allows us to do work in minutes what used to take hours or days. But rather than keeping that extra time for ourselves we fill it with more work.

The work week is a jealous god that demands forty hours.

Even our leisure suffers from abundance. Everything can be consumed faster, more efficiently, so we consume more. We binge. We scroll. We don’t even have to get off the couch any more to boot up the computer and dial in. It’s instinctive now. We don’t realize we’re doing it half the time.

Is this really how we want to live?
